Undergraduate and College Undergraduate Scholarships 2021.

When applicants are just thinking about entering a university or college , questions immediately pop into their heads about what kind of scholarship they will receive during their studies, what needs to be done to increase it? What social payments are due, and under what conditions? Today we will consider all these topics, as well as tell you about the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation and the scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation. Let’s not forget to discuss the news about equating scholarships to the minimum wage. You will find all this in our article. Go!

Will the scholarship be equated to the minimum wage?

And I want to start with the news, namely with the one that excited the minds of all current students and knocked out a stingy tear from graduates. As you know, in the last academic year, the average amount of scholarships in the country was 2,980 rubles, and this value is the arithmetic mean, and if you look at the median, then there is even less. But be that as it may, these are still very, very small numbers: it is impossible to live on 3,000 rubles in Russia.

The Ministry of Education and Science began to study the possibility of increasing academic scholarships to the level of the minimum wage (Minimum Wage), which in 2020 was equal to 12,130 rubles. This news came straight from the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science. And it is caused by the fact that poor students have to earn extra money in order to survive, and this negatively affects learning. In January of this year, a bill on equalizing scholarships to the minimum wage was submitted to the State Duma, and in February it was approved by the Federation Council. And silence…

Unfortunately, now the coronavirus is hanging over Russia and the whole world, so the issue of increasing the budget for scholarships for students is hanging in the air, like many other financial problems. It is difficult to predict what will happen next, because everything will depend on the actions of the Government of the Russian Federation and the President himself, and their actions, as a rule, cannot be predicted.

How much did the scholarships increase in 2020?

The next topic of our discussion is no longer news, but an accomplished fact: scholarships have been increased in 2020! Unfortunately, this increase is equated only to the inflation rate and nothing more. From September 1, 2020, the scholarship for university students and colleges will be increased by 4% ! Not much, but better than nothing.

Based on the minimum amount of scholarships in the country, it can be concluded that, on average, scholarships will increase:

  • For students of colleges and technical schools – 34 rubles.
  • For students of higher educational institutions – 62 rubles.

How to deal with this – the choice is yours. And we will tell you what you need to do in order to receive a scholarship on a permanent basis.

Which students receive the scholarship?

If you want to receive money from the state for being so smart and studying at a secondary or even higher state educational institution, then you need to come up to several criteria at once:

  1. You must study on a budgetary form of study.
  2. It is imperative to undergo training with daily attendance of classes, with the exception of weekends.

After the first scholarship student feels like the king of Wall Street

This will be enough to receive a scholarship for the first six months, but if you want to keep it, then you will have to make a little effort and comply with a couple of conditions:

  1. At the end of the session, the student should not have any debts and not a single credit or exam passed for “satisfactory”.
  2. At the end of the session, the student should not have retakes.

If any of these conditions are violated, then you can say goodbye to the scholarship for the next six months, where at the next session you will again have to prove your knowledge.

But something tells us that you came here not for a theory, but with a desire to see what numbers students of institutes and colleges in Russia can actually receive. Unfortunately, it is not possible to collect for all educational institutions in Russia, so we have collected average data from the universities and colleges we studied and are ready to present them to you.

Social scholarships in Russia

Some applicants, and the students themselves, often confuse a social scholarship and a regular one, because at first glance they are very similar. Although in fact there are many differences even at the legislative level and not everyone is entitled to social stipends, but let’s talk about everything in order.

Who is eligible for social scholarships?

Social scholarships are a special type of financial support for citizens in need who are studying in public educational institutions.

That is, you must meet the criterion of citizens in need of support, and there are quite a few of them in Russia. To qualify for a social scholarship, you must fall under the following category:

  1. Orphans and children left without parental care.
  2. Disabled people of different categories:
    1. Disabled children.
    2. Disabled since childhood.
    3. Disabled persons of groups 1 and 2.
  3. Students who have undergone radioactive influence : close relatives and participants in the Chernobyl disaster who participated in the Semipalatinsk test site and those who were a participant in other radiation tragedies.
  4. Students who have served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on a contract basis .
  5. Students from poor families . A family is recognized as poor if the total family income does not exceed the subsistence level in the region multiplied by the number of family members.

It is important!
The amount of social scholarships for university students cannot be less than 2,227 rubles, and for college students – no less than 809 rubles.

What documents are required to receive a social scholarship?

Unfortunately, it is not enough to come to the dean’s office and say that you want to receive a social scholarship. First, you will have to prepare a package of documents, without which your application will not even be considered. It should include:

  • Help on the composition of the family. It can be obtained from the MFC or the passport office.
  • Documents confirming the income of each officially employed family member.
  • A certificate from the employment service and a copy of the work book for those who do not work in the family.
  • Documents confirming family ties. This could be a birth or marriage certificate.
  • Certificate from the university about the passage of training.
  • Application for a social scholarship. A sample can be found in the dean’s office of any educational institution.

All certificates must be up-to-date and provide information for the last 3 months, it is on the basis of these figures that the calculation will be carried out. So, you have collected a package of documents, wrote an application, what to do next?

How to get a social scholarship?

  1. First of all, you need to get a special certificate from the dean’s office confirming that you are studying at this educational institution.
  2. In the accounting department of the educational institution, it is necessary to obtain a certificate of all payments received for the last 3 months. If they were not there, you still need to get a certificate confirming this fact.
  3. If there are “tails” and other debts, they must be eliminated, otherwise the scholarship will definitely not shine for you.
  4. After that, you need to collect documents confirming the family’s income, the amount of which, when calculated for each member, is below the subsistence level. Such documents include a 2NDFL certificate for the last 6 months, as well as copies of work books of non-working family members.
  5. Obtain a certificate from the social security department at the place of residence, which states that the student lives in a poor family.
  6. If necessary, submit a certificate from social security.

Having a scholarship provides a useful financial management skill

What are the types of advanced scholarships?

  1. For achievements in research activities . To do this, you need to have publications in scientific journals and journals and, preferably, awards for your work. Also, a plus will be various documents and grants confirming the rights to the result of research work.
  2. For academic success . This is the most popular type of advanced scholarship. To do this, you need more than 75% of all ratings to be “Excellent” and, again, no “Satisfactory”.
  3. For achievements in cultural and creative life . To qualify for such a scholarship, you must provide awards for participating in cultural events or for the creation of works of art or literature.
  4. For active social work . Here you need to submit documents confirming the student’s participation in public events as an organizer.
  5. For sports achievements . Another common type of increased scholarship. It is issued for systematic participation in sports competitions on behalf of an educational institution.

As for the size of the increased scholarship , it is nowhere and in any way fixed and depends only on the generosity of your place of study. To find out this point, study the order approving the amount of the scholarship, which should be published annually on the website of the university or college.

So, let’s say you have fulfilled all the requirements of one of the points and want to receive an increased scholarship, what is needed for this? You have to write an application addressed to the dean, you will find a sample in the dean’s office, and also attach documents to it, if necessary, plus do not forget to submit a copy of the grade book. You give all this to the dean’s office and wait for a decision.

Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation

The classic types of scholarships have come to an end, now let’s talk about special ones, which are awarded only to the best of the best! There are many of them in our country, but today we will talk about two of them: the Scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation and the Scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation .

The Presidential Scholarship in Russia is awarded to the most gifted students with the highest academic performance. Only 700 undergraduate and 300 graduate students can apply for it, but 7,000 and 14,000 won’t hurt anyone, right? The payment of this type of scholarship is assigned to a student in order to support his material condition, due to which his potential in science will be stimulated by a decent standard of living.

Unfortunately, not all areas and specialties can participate in the drawing of this grant. Only students studying in areas related to the scientific and economic development of the country can receive this scholarship.

So, in order to receive an additional 7,000 (for students) or 14,000 (for graduate students), you need to meet certain criteria:

  1. The specialization chosen by the student must be economically justified.
  2. Training must be full-time.
  3. The student must study for the third year.
  4. The graduate student must study for the second year.
  5. The student must have certain academic performance indicators, receive rewards and have merit.
  6. Must have excellent academic performance over two semesters. That is, based on the results of exams over two semesters, a student must have excellent marks in all subjects.
  7. A student (postgraduate student) must actively participate in scientific activities, have diplomas and certificates for achievements in science based on the results of work.
  8. The student (graduate student) must have their own developments and innovations in theory. All this must be published in newspapers and magazines confirming his activities.

It is important!
If you want to try your hand at obtaining a scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation, then the application must be submitted before August 1 to approve the scholarship for the next academic year and such a scholarship is provided only to students of higher educational institutions.

In addition to monetary incentives, you have a great chance to do an internship abroad, for this you only need to write an application, and one of three countries will be waiting for you.

  1. Germany.
  2. France.
  3. Sweden.

The Presidential Scholarship is difficult, but extremely enjoyable! It is worth fighting for and learning excellently. And if it did not work out with her, then you can try another option.

RF Government Scholarship

If you are a college student, then you can count on a scholarship from the Government of the Russian Federation , university students, by the way, too. As time goes on, the spheres covered by such a scholarship are growing in number. But, as with the scholarship of the President, the Government of the Russian Federation has its own requirements for students of universities and colleges:

  1. Have in stock scientific papers published in scientific journals.
  2. A minimum of 50% of the ratings must be “Excellent” and no “Satisfactory” or “tails” in arrears.
  3. The presence of certificates, diplomas and letters of thanks for active participation in scientific activities is almost mandatory.

The size of the Scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation for students is 5,000 rubles. For graduate students – 10,000 rubles. Nice addition, isn’t it? In some universities in priority specialties, students and graduate students can apply for large scholarships from the government of the Russian Federation.

As you may have noticed, it is quite possible to receive a scholarship larger than the standard one, the main thing for this is to study well, and in order to avoid problems, the ProStudent company recommends its readers to contact us for help, because only we provide assistance with any student work, and we do it high quality, fast and for a reasonable price!
